Pancho has been a ski instructor for the Telluride Ski Resort Ski School since 1986 and his passion for skiing and snowboarding has increased throughout his lifetime. Pancho is very patient and he is fully certified thru the Professional Ski Instructors of America to teach Alpine Skiing and Telemark Skiing. Pancho is a Telluride Ski School veteran who loves teaching people how to ski and how to ski better.
As one of Telluride Outside’s top fly fishing guides, Pancho leads fly fishing trips throughout the watersheds of the Dolores, Gunnison, San Miguel and Uncompahgre Rivers. Pancho has been guiding for Telluride Outside for nine years and his passion for fly fishing has only increased with time. The Telluride region provides a setting for fly fishing that is both exciting and spectacular. The fly fishing season in Telluride is year round with the best fishing occurring from June thru October.
Pancho teaches and practices lateral learning of numerous board-sports. Lateral learning, or Teaching for Transfer, is “cross training” in a variety of similar sports to enhance one’s learning curve. For example, a rider’s experience on a skateboard, Rip Stick and Indo Board speeds their learning of snow boarding. Similarly, a rider’s experience on a snowboard and a wake board speeds a rider’s learning to kite surf.
Pancho is a well rounded waterman and has pursued wave and wind sports in California and Maui regularly over the last two decades. Pancho kites, surfs and wavesails. Pancho hopes for lots of future trips to Maui when he isn’t fishing or skiing.
